The Voice of Reason Podcast
Rob Young was shot twice during the 1989 Cleveland Elementary School shooting that occurred in Stockton, California. He was in first grade at the time. This incident was one of the very first “mass-school-shootings” that occurred in our country, and helped encourage him to want to become a police officer.Rob ended up fulfilling that dream, becoming a police officer at the age of 21. He spent nearly 20 years in law enforcement, half of that time working for the very school district police department that over-see’s the same campus where he was injured as a child.Rob has told his testimony on Capital Hill, as well as in several Senate Committee hearings in California, and has been invited to speak at national conferences in recent years. Rob has been very active in fighting to preserve freedoms, and has become an authority in the realm of active shooter response training for law enforcement and civilians alike.Rob desired to launch a platform for people to come together and discuss their personal experiences. He feels that in order to combat certain societal issues that our country is facing, people need to be able to come together and have civil conversations and bring real experience to the table.
